The lack of water allocation during the course of The NRAC Project delayed the development of the water benchmarking and reporting component. It was also established in the early stages of the project, that a program to develop techniques to provide low cost irrigation scheduling information using satellite and mobile phone SMS technology was being developed under the direction of Dr John Hornbuckle, CSIRO Land and Water Griffith.
